Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are feeling optimistic about the
possibility of being asked to resume their roles as working members of the royal
family, but under their own conditions. This opinion is expressed in light of
the reports that King Charles and Kate Middleton are receiving cancer treatment.
According to royal expert Tom Quinn, who spoke to the Mirror, both Harry and
Meghan still hold hope that they may be invited back as working royals on their
own terms.
Although the likelihood of this happening seems to be decreasing rapidly, the couple has had extensive discussions about the matter. The current decrease in the number of senior royals has reignited their hopes. However, palace contacts have supposedly indicated that they are deluding themselves if they believe they will be invited back in any capacity.
Quinn also revealed Prince William's genuine sentiments toward his brother amidst their ongoing rift. He asserted that William would prefer to keep Harry at a distance due to a trust issue. If William felt confident in Harry's reliability, he would certainly want him to return to the UK, especially considering this challenging period in William's life.
