In an article for The Telegraph, royal commentator Petronella Wyatt referenced a former palace official who had worked closely with both princes. The official supported the argument, stating, "There is a public misconception about William and Harry. It is William who was often the difficult one, and it is William who is preventing his father from having a proper reconciliation with Harry."
The official further emphasized that this situation is not helpful, particularly at a time when the country would benefit from witnessing the two princes coming together again, as would the King himself.
This development comes in the wake of Prince Harry's recent visit to the UK, during which he reportedly received a cold shoulder from the royal family. The Duke of Sussex was not granted an audience with his father, who is battling cancer, due to the latter's busy schedule. Furthermore, none of the other members of the royal family joined him at the church service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Nevertheless, Prince Harry found solace in the unexpected presence of his uncle and aunt from his late mother Princess Diana's side, who attended the event and provided him with support.
