Royal Expert Reacts to Kate Middleton's Trooping Plan

King Charles Confirms Attendance at Trooping the Colour, but Will Not Ride a Horse. In the latest update surrounding the upcoming Trooping the Colour festivities, a royal expert has provided insights into the role of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, as well as the plans for King Charles' participation.

According to royal expert Richard Palmer, the Palace has confirmed that the Princess of Wales will not be taking the salute at the Colonel's Review, the traditional rehearsal scheduled for June 8. This news comes as no surprise, as Middleton is expected to return to official duties only after receiving the all-clear from her doctors following her cancer treatment.

Reacting to this announcement, another royal expert, Richard Eden, commented that this development "would appear to confirm what we expected: that the Princess of Wales will NOT attend Trooping the Colour in a fortnight's time."

However, the Palace has also revealed that King Charles will be in attendance for the main Trooping the Colour event on June 15. Despite the monarch's own recent cancer treatment, he will not be riding a horse during the proceedings. Instead, the King will conduct the review from an Ascot landau carriage, accompanied by Queen Camilla.

This decision demonstrates the King's commitment to upholding the tradition of Trooping the Colour, even as he navigates his own health concerns. The event, which celebrates the Sovereign's birthday, remains a significant occasion on the royal calendar, and the palace's announcement underscores the royal family's determination to maintain the event's grandeur and significance.
