Kate Middleton may be royalty, but when it comes to fashion, the Duchess of Cambridge loves a high street find just like you and I. She often wears outfits over and over again – why wouldn't you if it's something that you love? And she isn't afraid to – on occasion – blur the boundaries and experiment with her fashion style. There's nothing more boring than stepping outside in the same old ensemble, don't you agree?
Not wanting to break too far from tradition, Kate always manages to look on point keeping it stylish and sophisticated without overstepping the mark. She has to remain within the royal confines after all.
But what's so great about the Duchess's style – and something we can't help but admire – is that she's a dab hand at mixing her favourite high street finds with a few indulgent designer purchases, giving her own distinctive, signature stamp to every outfit that she wears.
Whether you're a Kate fan or not, you can't deny the girl oozes style. And whilst we can't quite afford her designer separates or elegant couture gowns, we've rounded up a few of our favourite style choices, that we could all learn a thing or two from.
Invest in a statement coat.
Kate has a stunning collection of statement coats. We're big fans of her bold colour blocks and fitted trenches. If you're feeling uninspired about the outfit underneath, you can breathe new life into your get up by covering with a fabulous overlay.
Every wardrobe requires an LBD.
Kate's slender frame looks good in pretty much anything, but we're firm believers there's an LBD — Little Black Dress — out there for everyone. A staple for any glamorous evening event.
You can always work it at Wimbledon.
Kate chose a summery embellished frock that wasn't too OTT for the men's Wimbledon final. Proving here you can still look stylish and chic at any sporting event.
It's ok to wear the same things.
Thank goodness Kate has shown the world that not every member of the royal family has an ever-changing wardrobe where items are worn only once and then mourned for eternity. Of course it's ok to wear your favourite items again and again, that's what they're there for!
A hat is a girl's best friend.
Whether you want to make a statement with a wedding outfit or glam up a daytime ensemble, a hat never goes out of style.
Don't be afraid of colour.
A lot of us tend to gravitate towards simple, understated shades like black and grey. But as the dainty Duchess has demonstrated countless times, a colourful frock or coat can instantly brighten up even the dullest day. Don't be scared to experiment with different colours, whether it be bright bolds or muted pastels.
Know your body shape.
Ever noticed that Kate always chooses something that flatters her figure? Ok, she obviously has a great stylist, but Kate also knows exactly what works for her body shape too. How many times have we seen her wear a sleek, tailored shirtdress nipped at the waist or a chic buttoned blazer buttoned up with a pair of skinny jeans? Always work with your best assets. If you have an hourglass figure, accent your waist. If you have perfectly toned pins, don't be afraid to wear a skirt. Find what works for you and stick with it.

Although Kate of course loves dressing up in her rather fabulous designer frocks – what girl doesn't – we love the fact that the Duchess' royal wardrobe is also full to the brim with quirky, everyday items from her favourite high street stores too. You really don't have to spend a fortune to look good, in fact some of our favourite items from Kate's wardrobe have been high street rather than designer.
Get back to basics.
From her L.K. Bennett nude pumps to her skinny jeans and Wayfarers, Kate is the Queen of stylish basics. Of course you can style it up with a luxe handbag or statement stilettos, but having a catalogue of staples in your wardrobe will give you all the help you need when it comes to styling in the morning.
