Extreme Transparencies: When The Star Is Almost Naked ...

Remember the good old “I see-I don't see” and the clothes that managed to be sexy even without revealing a lot of flesh? Well, it seems that Hollywood has gone out of fashion, leaving room for mesh and lace creations that leave very little to the imagination ...
In recent months we have seen a real boom in transparent clothing on the red carpets: some manage to maintain a certain level of sophistication, while others are truly exaggerated and even a little vulgar. It is one thing to have some mesh insert that shows a little skin in some strategic points, another is to have more transparency than fabric on you, especially when the buttocks and breasts remain uncovered! Let's see some examples together:
The one worn by Irina Shayk at the after-party of the Oscars is an upside-down dress: not a dress with transparent inserts, but pieces of fabric expertly attached to a fishnet jumpsuit to cover what needed to be covered! Obviously a body like yours is mandatory to afford a look of this kind, but it is even more important to leave aside any form of shyness ...
The make-up, however, is highly approved: her skin is extremely luminous by nature and helps to make any make-up immediately fresh. In general, Irina prefers very natural looks and in this case too she decided to keep her eyes light enough, adding a touch of gold eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye and a not too thick black eyeliner only along the upper lashes. The slightly disheveled brows are in perfect harmony with the rest of the face; in short, with a dress of that type it was a wise choice not to load too much makeup!
Also at the after-party of the Oscars, Rita Ora did not follow the same strategy and remained faithful to her classic, decidedly strong look, consisting of red lipstick and thick eyeliner stretched outwards. The slightly tousled hair, however, made the ensemble more jaunty and modern.
Seen from the front, the dress made by Donna Karan seems almost contained and essential, but in reality it hides an explosive back, complete with mega-tattoos in plain sight! The fabric and train cover a large part of Rita's lower back… but not all!
Let's move on to an apparently less shocking dress: certainly the cascade of sequins that covers it helps to mask the transparency a little, even if perhaps they had run out of pearls when it came to completing the décolleté hehe 😉 Anyway Jennifer is always Jennifer and you have to admit that not many women at 45 would feel comfortable in such a dress!
The make-up, on the other hand, leaves me very perplexed: between the very marked contouring, the overly drawn eyebrows and the nude lipstick complete with full-bodied gloss, Jennifer seems really stiff and embalmed, but above all it seems to me that the whole hardens her features. The man-eating expression also contributes ...
We completely change the genre with Lily Collins' look, with a much darker and more mysterious flavor. The lace sleeves and skirt add a sexy touch to the outfit, while the black shorts and the deep but not excessive neckline make the dress quite subtle; I also like the contrast between the black and her very pale complexion.
Certainly also the short and slightly masculine cut helps to make the look less constructed; Lily is not a classic femme fatale, so she seeks the right compromise between sensuality and style. As for the make-up, however, she focused on a smokey in shades of black and brown, softening everything with a hint of butter-colored pencil. The brows are thicker than ever, while there seems to be only an imperceptible veil of beige lipstick on the lips.
We talked about her just yesterday in the post on the new it-girls: Gigi Hadid, who sported a very interesting dress by Versace. The bodice is composed of a geometric game of lines and spirals, and while showing off a lot of skin it is not vulgar, also because for better or worse it covers everything there is to cover (even if now we all know that Gigi has a mole underneath breast hehe)
The makeup is minimal, characterized by very thick false eyelashes that stand out on a light eyeshadow; a touch of cream-colored pencil in the inner rhyme helps to open the gaze further. The eyebrows are natural, while the hair is rightly pulled back with a high ponytail, to make the dress the real protagonist. Personally I would have dared more on the lips with a bright color, or even with a more rosy nude, but overall it is still a very refined and successful look
Some dresses should be left in the stylists' ateliers, and not flaunted in front of hundreds of photographers: Lady Victoria Hervey perhaps did not have this concept very clear when she chose to wear a Gaurav Gupta haute couture creation that left the right side of the body completely discovered! For heaven's sake, you can also afford it, but it really seems a bit "too much" to me!
How can we forget the entirely mesh dress chosen by Miley Cyrus for the 2013 Met Gala? The theme of the evening was punk and Miley actually didn't clash; we also forgive her the platinum blonde porcupine hairstyle, indeed, I must say that as crazy as hers was one of the most “successful” looks in that context!
For the make-up she preferred to leave the look quite natural, but she did not give up a very bright red lipstick:
However, it is not the first time that Miley plays with nudity and transparency, as we can see from these other examples; in both cases, she opted for a very elongated outward eyeliner, leaving her lips bare.
The most discussed outfit of 2014? Surely Rihanna's one worn at the CFDA Fashion Awards clearly inspired by the 1920s, which left very little to the imagination! We could say many things about that dress, for example that the singer was not wearing a bra that day ...
But let's just talk about the make-up, which is also much talked about and re-proposed by all the Youtubers, including myself 🙂 The smokey in shades of gray warmed by the caramel color in the crease of the eye is truly splendid; sure, it's an important make-up, but with a dress like that it wouldn't have made sense to focus on natural… The slightly ombré lips are also beautiful, with the outline of a pink just darker than the lipstick.
Last, but not least, two transparent dresses that made history. The first is the one worn by Cher in 1988 at the Oscars ceremony in which she was awarded as best leading actress:
The second, on the other hand, wins my personal bad taste award: it must be said that for Rose McGowan it was not easy to keep up with her then partner, the extravagant Marilyn Manson ...

Definitely very provocative, in line with Irina Shayk and Rita Ora's dresses. The makeup is characterized by a fairly light and very warm brown eyeshadow applied over the entire eyelid and faded outwards; eyeliner and black pencil in the lower rim complete the look.
