Each additional size corresponds to approximately 5 cm more in circumference in these 3 points.

Curvy sizes, where to find them

Where can you buy the trendy items that will make you feel at ease? If you have a size between 46 and 48 you can find them in all the shops. If, on the other hand, you are over 50, you will have to go to specialized shops. The alternative? E-commerce stores: you can choose the clothes and accessories from the comfort of your home and return them in case they don't fit you.

Conformed and calibrated sizes

You will have to keep in mind two elements: the numbering of the sizes is different from the classic one (which starts from 38), and you will also have to distinguish between calibrated and conformed sizes. The calibrated ones follow the exact same model of the normal sizes, only in larger sizes, while the conformed ones, as the word itself says, are "conform" to the type of body.

Body shapes are different even if you are a woman with curves. Basically similar to the classic shapes: hourglass, pear, apple and rectangle. You will just have to be more careful about the garments that will follow the lines of your body better.

Conversion into foreign sizes

In order not to get lost among the foreign sizes, here's what you need to do. First of all, consider that the fit of American brands is wider than the Italian one. Here's how to convert for dresses, coats and jackets: if you are an Italian 46, your American size is 36, just do 46 minus 10! If you have an Italian 48 you will be an American 38 and so on.

If we are talking about pants instead just subtract the number 16: if you have an Italian size 46, your American size will be 30, 46 - 16! For sweaters, tops and shirts the operation to do is subtract the number 30 from your Italian size: for example, if you wear an Italian 50 shirt you will have an American 20.

As for the English sizes compared to the Italian ones, just subtract the number 32 from the Italian size: if you have a 46 then your size in the English version will be 14 (for dresses, coats, shirts, tops, sweaters and jackets). On the other hand, for trousers, always starting from curvy size 46, the English equivalent is 32/33, if you have 48 it is 34/35, 50 36/37 and so on.

If you like Spanish and French brands, the rule to understand what size you correspond to is very simple in both cases: subtract the 4 from your size. Are you an Italian 46? Well your Spanish or French size will be 42!

In general, however, online stores (or the brands themselves) provide a size conversion table that will not make you wrong on your purchase.
