Dai Davies, the former head of Royal protection, shared his perspective, stating, "He won't let anything deter him. It's worth noting that his Chief of Protection has a background as an ex-Sergeant in royalty protection, indicating a high level of training and expertise. Even if armed protection isn't present, there will be a well-established liaison structure in place to ensure his safety."
Davies further explained, "In other words, as far as it's humanly possible, if RAVEC (Royal and VIP Executive Committee) decided through intelligence - and they get the best intelligence there is - after this uproar over his protection, you can rest assured they have thoroughly reviewed it. The government and the Home Office have shown unwavering support for the decision, affirming their commitment to stand by the security arrangements.
"It's nothing personal, and as a former professional, I would apply those principles of, 'Is it necessary and does the intelligence warrant it?' Every time he's been here lately to see his father or other members of the royal family, he's had royal protection."
