Meghan Markle Honors Mother's Day in Nigeria with Meaningful Attire, Invited by Chief of Defence Staff

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, extended an invitation to the Sussexes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to visit Nigeria. In a heartwarming gesture, Meghan Markle commemorated Mother's Day in Nigeria, taking a nostalgic journey with her choice of attire. Being away from the United States on this important day meant that Meghan missed the American version of Mother's Day.

Meanwhile, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remained in California. However, Meghan aimed to uplift their spirits by wearing her Carolina Herrera Yellow Silk Overlay Column Gown, the very same dress she wore in 2021 when she announced her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet.

Their Valentine's Day announcement regarding Meghan's pregnancy was accompanied by a black and white photograph taken by their friend and photographer, Misan Harriman. The intimate image captured the couple in a natural setting, with Harry tenderly embracing Meghan's baby bump.

Meghan arrived at the State Governor House in Lagos wearing the £3,198 ($3,990) silk dress, elegantly paired with nude leather slingback shoes, as reported by Mirror. With her hair styled in a sleek updo, she accessorized with familiar pieces, including an AURate gold collar necklace and a $3,250 (£2,605) pair of gold hammered disc earrings by Jennifer Meyer. Her wrist sparkled with the Lorraine Schwartz 'Evil Eye' bracelet, a stunning gold Cartier 'Love' bangle, a diamond tennis bracelet, and the snowflake diamond ring from Birks.

The flowing yellow maxi dress had previously been seen on Meghan during the filming of the couple's Netflix series, Harry & Meghan. She also wore it while celebrating Prince Archie's first birthday alongside Harry and her mother, Doria Ragland.

Earlier in the day, Meghan displayed her gratitude by wearing a traditional Nigerian skirt that had been gifted to her during a reception in Abuja on Saturday.

In a previous revelation, Meghan shared that she had discovered she is "43 percent Nigerian" and expressed her appreciation to the crowd in Abuja for welcoming her and Harry to "my country."

The invitation to Nigeria came from General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, who had previously met Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, in September. Meghan's newfound Nigerian heritage played a role in their visit, adding a personal connection to the trip.
