Differentiate the shape of a healthy woman's breasts and who need a doctor's examination

Some are big and perfectly round, some are slightly down and spaced between the two, there are also small and dense ones. Actually what is the shape of a woman's breasts that are said to be normal and need to be checked by a doctor?

What is the normal shape of a woman's breasts?
Different sizes and shapes of each woman's breasts are usually determined by genes or family heredity. If your mother has large, dense breasts, chances are all her daughters have large breasts. Vice versa. If your mother from a young age had a breast shape that slightly fell like a bell, your chances are the same.

Of the various types of existing breast forms, the following can be considered normal and healthy:

1. Full round
As the name implies, the shape of this breast looks perfectly round and full at the top and bottom. Or in other words, the breasts will form a complete circle on all sides.

2. Big next door
Ever watched your own breast shape? Are they exactly the same size and symmetrical shape? Maybe the two sides are not exactly the same between right and left. Whether it's left or right, there's one side that's bigger than one.

However, you do not need to worry because one big breast (asymmetrical) is actually still considered normal and healthy. This statement is supported by Jennifer Wider, M.D., a woman health expert and author of the book. Wider said that it is normal to form a large breast next door. The difference in size is also usually not so large and is obvious when seen at a glance by the naked eye.

Not even all women realize that they have large breasts. In fact, this condition can occur nearly more than half the female population in the world. The condition of large breasts next to one usually has begun to appear since puberty.

3. Like a bell
If you understand the shape of a bell, you surely know the shape of the breasts on this one. Unlike a full round shape that looks equally large on all sides, the bell-shaped breast is rather narrow or small at the top but looks full at the bottom.

4. The direction of the nipple is opposite
The shape of the breasts appear to be sloping from top to bottom, with the opposite white direction. Do your breasts have this shape? If yes, don't worry. Because this is actually a normal thing as long as there are no other worrisome symptoms.

If you want to be sure, you can see a doctor to do consultation about the breast with the shape and direction of the nipple that is not in rhythm.

5. Side set
The ideal breast shape is said to be rounded and joined together on both sides so as to form seductive cleavage. But in fact not all women have this ideal form.

Quite a lot of women who have breast shape with a distance between the two sides so that leaves little room in the middle. Relax, this is still considered normal and healthy, as long as it is not accompanied by disturbing symptoms.

6. Tear drop
The tear drop shape adapts to the tear shape. This means that your breasts appear narrow or small at the top but are wide and rounded at the bottom.

Not much different from the bell shape, it's just that the shape of the 'tear drop' has more curves, aka not really round on the side of the breast.

7. Slender
The opposite and bell shape and ‘tear drop’, breast shape ‘slender’ because it is wider and fuller at the top. However, the bottom of her breasts are smaller or narrower.

In other words, this breast is thin because it does not have a lot of fatty tissue in it.

8. Bundled
Some women have bumpy breasts, have streaks, and are not flat textured, aka huddled. In general, the shape of the breast is normal and there is no need to worry too much.

The texture of the skin of the breast that is bumpy and has too thick may indicate stretch marks or cellulite. Although disturbing appearance, these two skin problems are not a sign of serious illness.

What breast shape signals the problem?
Behind it, some normal and healthy breast forms, of course there are some signs that should not be underestimated. Therefore, be aware that the shape and size of the breast changes suddenly unlike usual, and points out the following issues:

1. Having a lump
Lumps in the breast do not always mean cancer. Your breasts can feel more dense and slightly protruding in certain areas especially every time before and during menstruation, pregnancy and breastfeeding, or when entering menopause. Usually these changes will return to normal after you pass these periods.

You may also see lumps around your nipples, known as the Montgomery glands. This is also completely normal.

But pay attention when breast lumps appear suddenly (never before), it develops even bigger and harder, and does not go away for a long time. Beware also if the skin of the breast reddened and feels painful This may indicate a lump characteristic of breast cancer.

Therefore, women are encouraged to routinely do breast self-examination (BSE). The goal is that abnormalities in the shape, size, and texture of the breast can be detected and treated as early as possible. Do not forget to consult a doctor immediately to get the diagnosis and the right treatment.

2. Orange peel texture
Normal and healthy breast skin texture should be the same as skin on other parts. Some people may have fine strokes on their breasts due to stretch marks or stretching of the skin when they gain weight or are pregnant. This is normal.

Another story if you see the curve of the skin uneven that is similar to the texture of orange peel. This may be a symptom of inflammatory breast cancer. Not all breasts with orange skin texture are a sure sign of breast cancer, because in most cases this may be caused by cellulite.

Even so, be vigilant if accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • swelling and redness that can cover one third or more of your breasts
  • appearance of skin that is pink, reddish, purple, or bruised
  • rapid increase in breast size
  • severe sensation, burning, pain, or pain in the breast
  • sudden nipples go into
  • swollen lymph nodes under the arm, near the collarbone, or both
  • The texture of orange peel on the breast can also be caused by certain infections, lymphedema, and side effects from therapy or surgery for malignant diseases.

3. Swollen lymph nodes in the armpits
Lymph nodes are a group of immune system tissues, whose job is to filter fluids and capture cells that have the potential to endanger health. For example bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells.

When the breast has cancer cells that have the potential to develop into cancer, the cells will walk to the lymph nodes in the armpits. Next, there is swelling in this part up to the breast.

Pay attention if unusual lumps arise around the breast area to your armpits. Do not delay to see a doctor so that it can be treated as quickly as possible.

Is it normal if the shape of the breast changes with age?
Besides changing during menstruation and pregnancy, breast shape will usually change with age. For women who are menopausal, the breasts will usually appear more loose, small, even change shape than before.

All of these conditions are normal, and are part of hormonal changes in the body. Decreasing the hormone estrogen with age, will cause the skin and breast connective tissue to become less elastic or tight.

Finally, the breasts will appear sagging and appear to "sag" down. But again, if these changes occur outside of menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause, be aware of problems that need to be followed up immediately by the doctor.
