What is the best cloud photo manager? We look for it among five candidates
Photographs are probably the most important thing we have on our smartphone, and for that simple fact we can get to dozens of snapshots a day. And of course, organizing that entire collection involves extra work that not everyone does.
We can save everything on the reel of the mobile and transfer everything to our computer when necessary ... or we can use some cloud photography service. Choosing the best one in our opinion is complicated since there are many opinions about it, but we are going to do it equally.
The winner: Google Photos
Unlimited space for photos of up to a certain quality, automatically generated albums and stories, a mobile interface that manages so that we can process a large number of images on a small screen ... of course, Google has nothing to envy no one with their new photo service.
And that's why we proclaimed Google Photos the winner: for demonstrating that the cloud can work seamlessly with tens of thousands of images at the same time and from a mobile phone, saving us a lot of mechanical work by automatically organizing the photo library in several different ways. And if we want to store very high quality photographs, the prices to expand the space are not expensive.
Honorable Mention: Dropbox Carousel
Okay, Dropbox has its space as the main drawback, but it must be said that Carousel is one of the most comfortable services. Available on iOS and Android, this service is in charge of automatically uploading your photographs to your cloud and organizing them based on their location and date.
It may not have as much flexibility as other rivals, but that is precisely why many users use it: nothing like knowing the folders in which we have the photographs at all times, perfectly synchronized.
The other rivals: Flickr, iCloud Photo Library, OneDrive
As much as Apple tries to integrate its services, organizing photos in iCloud is not simple. Setting it properly implies taking into account too many things, and the user on foot is always confused between what is iCloud, the reel, the iCloud photo library, the photos in Streaming ... In Cupertino they boast of being simple, but their candidate does it. is anything but that.
Flickr, on the other hand, continues to attract with its TB of free space but has not achieved enough presence on mobile devices. Users have simply gone to other, more integrated and social alternatives. Too bad, what was this service before the arrival of smartphones.
And finally we have OneDrive, which although it is not dedicated exclusively to the organization of photos like Dropbox deserves a position for its interface. Folders with photos look great from the web and mobile apps, and being integrated with Office 365 is probably a good service for those who work with the office suite. Unfortunately, it does not go beyond that and stays with the other applicants.
