It is said that the Princess of Wales left £2,000 behind the bar to fund a party, as she was unable to attend herself. Currently, Kate is not involved in any royal duties and is not expected to resume public engagements until after Easter.
According to the Daily Mail, she specifically left the money behind the regimental bar at Aldershot for the post-parade celebration. This year, Lady Ghika, the wife of Major General Sir Christopher Ghika, took Kate's place during the annual parade. Despite her absence, the Irish Guards showed their appreciation by cheering for her, as captured in a video shared by The British Army in London on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
At the end of the parade, one of the guards shouted, "Three cheers for the Colonel of the Regiment." Although the Princess of Wales has not been seen in any public engagements since Christmas Day 2023, it appears that this will change in the upcoming weeks. Reports indicate that she has been working from home on her early years project, which aims to enhance the lives of babies.
