In light of the recent photo editing controversy surrounding Kate
Middleton, Meghan Markle is said to have reached out to Kate in an effort to
mend their relationship and bridge the gap with the royal family.
According to royal author Tom Quinn, Meghan has made multiple attempts through
back channels to Kensington Palace to explore the possibility of improving her
relationship with Kate. While Meghan is genuinely concerned about Kate's health,
she also sees this as an opportunity to shed her negative image of being
constantly angry at the royal family.
However, Quinn explains that Kate is not fully receptive to the idea of reconciliation, but she doesn't want to be seen as rejecting Meghan's efforts either. Those close to Kate have advised her not to take the risk and to give Meghan the benefit of the doubt.
The general sentiment within Kensington Palace is that if Meghan's attempts to extend an olive branch are embraced, it may reopen old wounds and reignite past conflicts, according to the royal expert. This development comes in the midst of increased scrutiny on Kate following her abdominal surgery in January.
